Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 1, 2026
Winslow's San Francisco ("Winslow's," "we," "our," or "us") takes the handling of personal information seriously. This notice describes what we gather, why we gather it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you when you browse our site, ask for a catering estimate, place an order, use the client portal, or otherwise reach out to our team.
Our catering operations serve San Francisco and the northern Peninsula, including Daly City, Brisbane, Colma, and South San Francisco. Using this website or sending us information means you accept the practices explained below.
1. Information You Give Us
Most of what we hold is information you type into a form or send us in a message, such as:
- Your name, the company or organization you represent, and your title
- Email address, phone number, and preferred way of being contacted
- Event details — date, start and end times, guest count, venue address, loading dock or freight elevator instructions, parking notes, building contacts
- Menu preferences, allergies, and dietary restrictions you choose to tell us
- Billing contacts, purchase order or reference numbers, and tax-exemption documentation
- Notes, attachments, and message history exchanged with our coordinators
2. Payment Details
Card and bank details submitted for a deposit or final balance are captured and processed by our third-party payment processor inside their own secure fields. We do not set out to keep complete card numbers on our systems. What we retain is limited to records such as the last digits, card brand, authorization result, and amount so we can reconcile your order. The processor handles that data under its own privacy and security terms.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you load a page, ordinary web data may be recorded — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and time on site. Cookies, pixels, and similar tools may also be used for site functionality, remembering your cart, measuring traffic, and understanding which pages help people find catering in San Francisco and nearby cities.
4. Why We Use It
We rely on this information to:
- Prepare quotes, confirm menus, and schedule delivery or full-service staffing
- Route orders to our kitchen, drivers, and event leads
- Take payments, issue invoices, and apply credits or refunds
- Answer questions and send order updates, agreements, and reminders
- Improve recipes, packaging, routing, and the website itself
- Send marketing or seasonal menu emails when you have asked to receive them
- Prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and satisfy legal or tax obligations
5. Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share what is needed with:
- Service providers — payment processing, email and text delivery, hosting, scheduling, analytics, and customer support tools
- Event partners — venue staff, building management, rental suppliers, floral partners, and staffing partners, only where required to execute your event
- Professional advisers — accountants, insurers, and attorneys as reasonably necessary
- Authorities — when the law requires disclosure or to protect rights, safety, or property
- Successors — a buyer or successor entity in a merger, financing, or sale of assets
6. Advertising and Analytics
Some analytics or advertising technologies used on this site may fall within the broad definitions of "sale" or "sharing" in certain privacy statutes even though no money changes hands. Where the law grants it, you may opt out of that activity by contacting us or by using a browser-level opt-out preference signal that we honor when detected.
7. How Long We Keep It
Quote, order, payment, and tax records are held as long as needed for the event, for accounting and warranty purposes, and for the periods required by law. Marketing contacts are held until you unsubscribe. When information is no longer needed we delete it or remove identifying details.
8. Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards — restricted staff access, encrypted transmission, and vetted vendors — to protect what we hold. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so please avoid sending sensitive personal details such as full payment card numbers by email or text.
9. Your Choices
You may:
- Ask what personal information we have collected about you
- Ask for a copy of it
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete it, subject to legal exceptions
- Opt out of any sale or sharing as defined by applicable law
- Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information
- Unsubscribe from marketing email or reply STOP to text messages
We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. To make a request, use the contact details at the end of this notice. We may need to verify your identity, and an authorized agent may act for you with proof of authorization.
10. California Residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the rights listed in Section 9. The categories of personal information we collect are described in Sections 1 through 3 and include identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and — only where you volunteer it — dietary or health-related notes. We collect this information directly from you, from your browsing activity, and occasionally from event partners acting on your behalf. We use it for the business purposes listed in Section 4 and disclose it to the recipient categories listed in Section 5. We do not knowingly sell personal information for monetary value.
11. Children
Our services are aimed at adults arranging catering. We do not knowingly gather personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will remove it.
12. Third-Party Sites
Links to venue websites, review platforms, social media, mapping tools, or payment pages are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their notices before submitting information to them.
13. Changes
This notice may be revised. When it changes we will update the effective date shown above, and continued use of our site or services after that date means you accept the revised version.
14. Contact Us
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to our team using the email address and phone number published on our contact page. Please include enough detail for us to locate your records, such as the event date or reference number.
